Every jar of MELOS begins with our herd of pure Japanese Black Wagyu cattle on our family ranch in Luling, Texas.

These are rare animals. Every cow in our herd traces back to original Japanese bloodlines, but they’re raised here — on Texas pasture, in open air, on native grasses. They roam freely. They are raised humanely and regeneratively. No hormones. No unnecessary antibiotics.

The result is cattle with an extraordinary fat profile — rich in oleic acid and omega fatty acids that make their tallow unlike anything else in skincare.

We triple render our tallow at low temperatures to clarify and preserve every nutrient. Then we carefully blend it with jojoba oil, vitamin E, and essential oils to create a beef tallow balm your skin has never felt before.

No. Wagyu tallow has a lower melting point than generic tallow, so it absorbs quickly. The arrowroot powder further reduces any greasy feel. Most people describe the texture as silky and lightweight.

Not at all. Our tallow is triple rendered at low temperatures and carefully filtered to remove any scent. The finished product has a subtle, clean fragrance from the lavender and cedarwood...warm, earthy, and calming.
